GET TO KNOW US
Gunji Koizumi was started in 2018 by Sensei Tsepo Nashwa. He had the vision to structure a martial arts academy using judo as a development subject in respective primary schools.
The club functions and is registered with the Cape Town Judo Association which has more than 2000 members and about 15 affiliated clubs. Gunji Koizumi currently has more than 35 registered members in the Cape Town Judo Association.
Our club has members from various communities of Khayelitsha such as Harare, Endlovini, Ilitha Park, Nkanini & Ikuyasa.
The purpose of the programme is to bring awareness on Gender Based Violence. We also aim to minimize the use of prohibited substances in our communities, promote educational activities and to ensure cognitive development is met through the following activities.
• Hiking and boot camps
• Kids Marathon and walk
• Book Clubs
• Group Debates
• Physical Involvement
We also aim to promote parental caring by enabling 'child to parent social cohesion’.
